Mymanu CLIK PRO earbuds support over 50 languages online and come with a distinctive case featuring an e-INK display and a built-in speaker. Despite delivering excellent sound quality and handy translation features, the earbuds do have some drawbacks. A key issue is the need to keep your phone in hand with the app open during certain translation functions, which can quickly drain your phone’s battery. This creates a somewhat ironic situation — even with wireless earbuds, one hand stays occupied, reducing the convenience you’d expect from a wireless design.
The stylish case with its e-INK display is the first thing that stands out when unboxing the Mymanu CLIK PRO. In our testing, the case’s built-in speaker proved very useful — translations were clearly visible even in bright sunlight, and the speaker’s volume was sufficient for holding conversations in a busy café.
Mymanu CLIK PRO offers several operating modes:
Duo Translation Mode (50+ languages) – enables direct conversation between two people speaking different languages. Each person uses one earbud, with translations delivered in real time. During our trials, this mode ran smoothly, although there were brief delays with longer sentences. A notable drawback is the need to share in-ear earbuds, which raises hygiene concerns. On the plus side, this mode can be used without a phone — just the earbuds and the case with its built-in speaker suffice.
Group Translation Mode – supports translation of multilingual conversations for groups either in the same room or in different locations. This mode relies on the MyJuno app and a smartphone. In our controlled tests using three devices, it worked reliably, though its performance in larger group settings has yet to be proven. According to the manufacturer, it works efficiently for collaboration and communication in over 50 languages.
Continuous/Real-Time Translation Mode – designed for uninterrupted translation of longer speeches, such as lectures or seminars, for a wider audience. This mode requires the CLIK PRO earbuds, the MyJuno app, and a smartphone.
The earbuds support two types of connectivity: Wi-Fi and eSIM. One of the more disappointing aspects was the absence of a built-in SIM and the lack of any preloaded data package. To take full advantage of the device’s features, we had to source and activate an eSIM ourselves, along with purchasing a separate data plan. While testing the earbuds on a trip to Spain, mobile data charges noticeably added to the overall cost of using the device.
The sound quality is impressive – the four built-in microphones and advanced noise-cancellation technology performed reliably during our tests in a busy shopping centre. The earbuds also work well for music playback, delivering a full, well-balanced audio experience. However, comfort and hygiene are areas of concern. Although three sizes of ear tips are provided, the in-ear design raises hygiene issues when sharing – which is a core function for translation devices. While the fit is generally secure, some users reported discomfort after extended use. The battery life, as stated by the manufacturer, held up for around 8 hours of continuous use, with the charging case pushing total usage to approximately 30 hours – completely sufficient for a multi-day trip.
With its distinctive e-INK screen, multiple translation modes, impressive audio quality and a selection of ear tip sizes, the Mymanu CLIK PRO shows real promise as a live translation earbuds. Online translation features are generally reliable. However, the absence of a built-in SIM card — and the need to purchase separate data plans — feels like a notable shortfall for a product in this price range. The in-ear design also raises hygiene issues when sharing, particularly in 1:1 translation mode, where this is unavoidable. For frequent business travellers with data access sorted and a solid grasp of English, the device can be a practical solution for international communication. For the average user, though, the added costs may outweigh the convenience.
