5. Pocketalk Classic

In most aspects very similar to its sibling Pocketalk “S” model. The Classic is a bit larger and heavier though, despite lacking a photo translation feature.

There is not much to say about this particular device since the producer avoids to include the essential technical information as to how accurate the device is able to translate, and how many translation engines it uses. We can only judge from our own experience and we assess the translations as quite accurate, although of somewhat lesser quality than those made by the devices from the podium of this year’s ranking.

Although larger than the “S” model, it lacks the essential feature of a photo translator, which, quite frankly, seems to become a necessity for a useful and competitive electronic translator. It does have enough space for a stronger battery on the other hand, allowing for almost 10 days in standby mode.
